  • 20 minutes; your mood gets better.
  • 60 minutes; your ability to focus gets better.
  • 2 hours; your body can revive its defense mechanism.
  • 5 hours in a month; your positive feelings will increase.
  • 3 days in a row; your vitality increases, feelings of depression and tiredness decrease, high blood pressure drops, blood sugar stabilizes, amount of stress hormones decreases, amount of proteins that prevent cancer increases, your resistance mechanism will strengthen. (Arvonen 2015.)

After a busy day at school, it could be nice to enjoy some natural silence. In Vaasa region you can quite easily find a restful and peaceful place to relax. You could go for a walk along the seaside and listen how the wind blows. Or you could make a short trip to some of the natural surroundings of Vaasa region and listen to the sounds of nature.

In Vaasa region it is easy to find a dark but safe natural place where you can enjoy magnificent starry skies. If you are lucky, you may even have a chance to spot the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).

If you do not have the time or the energy to do activities outdoors, you could refresh your mind and spirit through watching images of natural surroundings. Another good way to take a short break and enhance your well-being, is watching the scenery through the window. In Finland there are trees and bushes everywhere. Watching birds and trees can bring more pleasure to your day and increase your creativity. You can also experience Finnish nature virtually through different seasons, so open your eyes and ears and enjoy nature virtually.
